Mieke Boynton, Icons of Ulm (Travel 2020)

Capturing photos of exotic locations and cultures is one of the reasons photographers travel... but we don't always get that opportunity! Personally, I think it's also exciting to try and capture the vibe and characteristics of an urban location bustling with thousands of tourists. These three photos were taken in Germany - one shows reflections of typical houses in the water at the famous "Schiefes Haus"; another shows a temporary fair in the square, taken from high up in the Ulm Munster tower; and the last was taken from inside the bustling Library at Stuttgart. I like to think that even though millions of photos are taken in Germany every day, these three images capture moments that will never again be repeated.
