Valerie Misa, Illuminating the Sands of Time (LANDSCAPE 2023)

The desert environment is so captivating to capture as it can offer many dynamic elements that can come together in great harmony in the right circumstances: textures, lines and curves, shadow and light. United by a single scene (parts of the second and third images can be seen in the first), this collection of images was captured at sunrise at The Big Drift, Wilsons Promontory National Park in Victoria. I was fortunate to have had the entire place to myself! As the early morning sun crept up through the clouds and casted its sweeping golden rays across the landscape, I was lost for hours in my own world capturing the unique beauty of this marvelous environment.
