Alan Zhao, Infusions (LANDSCAPE 2023)

These are aerial pictures taken at a salt lake in SA. As the water recedes in summer, the colour layers, textures and patterns of the salt lake begin to reveal. These pictures capture the amazingly coloured salt lake layers due to the movements caused by the force of nature. It is amazing that similar colour tones and patterns can be found in the Aboriginal arts as the colours used by Aboriginal ochre painters are a unique set of colours that come straight out of the Australian earth.
