The traditions of mountain horsemanship are etched in Australian-folklore. Though numbers are dwindling, there are still those for whom the mountains are a way of life. Taken in the tall Mountain Ash forests around the Bogong High Plains in Victoria, these images are part of and ongoing documentary project exploring a world beyond the comfort and complexity of modern life and celebrating the heritage and history of mountain horsemanship in Australia’s high country.
