Mark Brierley, Is This Not Art? (Architecture (2019))

Art is all around us. You can find beauty anywhere if you open yourself to the possibilities. By doing so we’re able to create our own world, as we discover the world. By concentrating on shapes and details, we have evolved the neocortex to perform the activity of parallel pattern recognition. Understanding this process had led to the use of lines, form and texture to interpret the artistic intent of the original designer. The outcome being that the viewer recognises, but also questions what they are looking at. Thereby allowing them to decide. Is this not art?
