Christine Goerner, Kangaroos at Mungo (SINGLE SHOT 2021)
Reminiscent of an early Australian painting, this scene was captured in the outback, early one foggy morning when I shared a silent moment with these kangaroos grazing in the scrub. The subject, textures and colour palette distinctly Australian and timeless. The scene has a strong sense of intrigue aided by the fog, because what lies beyond is open to interpretation. Capturing scenes with flora and fauna allows me to explore and celebrate the connection between the land and its inhabitants. I feel fortunate to have travelled here to a unique and historically significant place with a strong sense of mystery and spirituality, specifically for this purpose.
