Laetitia Touyeras, Keirin (DOCO 2025)
After bowing to the few elderly punters watching, colourful monochrome riders with mushroom like helmets follow a pacer on identical, brakeless, stainless steel bikes, sprinting through an eerily quiet velodrome. Translated as 'racing wheels', keirin track racing is an integral part to Japanese culture. It has strong links to gambling as it is one of four sports with legal betting in Japan.
