Annette Kirby, Kingfisher in slow motion (ANIMAL 2024)
Whilst recently in Botswana, I saw the Pied Kingfisher hovering with the early morning light at it's back. This is the only Kingfisher to have black and white plumage and an exceptionally long bill. I decided to try capturing this small, up to 25 cm long kingfisher in slow motion instead of a fast shutter speed. I loved results with the golden light capturing the movement and it's long bill making the capture like an intentional camera movement photo.
