Cihan Bektas, LANI (PORTRAIT 2021)

This portraits project is a discovery of identity in many different ways. The unique shapes and forms we create in today's life cover one of the main themes of this series. The meaning of the colours I used was a reflection of the identity expression in the model. Faces are often depicted as digital, fragmented, veiled, or blurry, and these interventions refer to elements from cubism and surrealism, genres in which I find unexpected magic and extra beauty. P.S Entire series is inspired by Joel Meyorowitz's words that `put the colour in photography`.
