Peter Hart, Lofoten Magic (Landscape 2020)

This series of images was taken during a January photo shoot in the Lofoten Islands, Norway. This time of the year presents a number of challenges, given the short days, low light conditions and storm fronts that frequently roll in from the Norwegian Sea. The first image is a stitched panorama that provides a much wider perspective to the classic shot from the Hamnoy bridge. The second image emphasises the cold wintery conditions that are often experienced at this time of year. The third image shows the power of introducing some colour when there is a break in the wintery clouds. The anamorphic aspect ratio used for these images accentuates the beautiful vistas that can be seen throughout the Lofoten Islands.

Images have been resized for web display, which may cause some loss of image quality. Note: Original high-resolution images are used for judging.
