Jane McMenamin, Look Close and You Will See (ANIMAL 2024)

In the middle of a suburban, man-made lake, birds go about their daily routines. Often unnoticed by the passers-by, chicks are born and fed, and parents hunt. I love photographing the egrets that populate the trees on the lake’s island and below them amongst the vegetation. Here is a story of egret chicks, siblings and a solitary hunter. They are striking birds, their white plumage a beacon on the landscape.
