Jodie Petersen, Mob in a Storm (SINGLE SHOT 2021)

I took this photo during a thunderstorm on our property in South Australia's Mid North. My aim was to catch the amazing colours of the bright, newly reaped barley against the dark, looming clouds...but life got in the way, in the best way possible! I had just gently ‘encouraged’ our resident family mob of kangaroos out of the back paddock, into the next paddock - they were eating the new trees - luckily for me, they decided to hop right into my shot. For me, this photo sums up life in the rural Mid North - weather, crops, and roos!
