Claudia Wilde, Mother: Beneath the surface (PEOPLE 2025)

"Beneath the surface" is an ongoing body of work investigating the complex realities often hidden and masked in the day to day life as mothers. It explores the struggle and isolation that are undoubtedly felt by so many women raising and nurturing children in today's climate. With a special focus on immigrant mothers and the effect of raising children away from familiar places and support systems within their broader family unit and community this series moves as a communal, collaborative piece to open up a conversation around the mental and physical load of mothers today. It is an invitation to freely express, acknowledge, learn and hopefully create change through signalling to mothers both the beauty and power of sharing what's 'beneath the surface' - for the individual as well as the collective.
