Kay Armstrong, Mother Nature (Art 2020)

I have reimagined my identity after a 30 yr career as a dance artist to embrace new visual languages through mediums of drawing, painting, photography, film and photomedia. Within my new practice, I am exploring the idea of hybridity – transformation, duality, polarity – using my abstract painting as a texture and playing with the images to create both movement and layers, concealing and revealing simultaneously. I endeavor to create psychological spaces that unsettle, embody movement and unravel questions I have about the world.
