KAY ARMSTRONG, My body the stranger (Art (2019))

I can’t escape the inevitability of aging, and I find myself equally horrified and intrigued by what is happening to my body. Having spent half my life as a professional dancer in a close relationship with my body, I think that perhaps these shifts in my physical form feel more monumental than they really are. Either way, I am fascinated by aging - the distortion of it. I was wanting to create something both organic and grotesque in this series, as well as utilize my abstract paintings.
