Belinda Kranz, My Crazy World (Art (2019))

This series represents the inner workings of my mind. I was diagnosed with bi polar some years ago. I used to hide the fact that I had it, because of the stigma, the shame and prejudices attached; and pretended to be ‘normal’. However as with many with bi polar, there are links with creativity. My art and my bi polar disorder are intertwined. My Crazy World series has my bipolar channelled into my work – I can see the world from different places and angles, my thoughts scurry and surge. My mind tumbles and curves as does the work in this series. The completed art piece takes on a life of its own, and I have refined and developed my own techniques.
