Victoria Ugarte, New Year's Day Ritual at Clovelly (NSW) (Documentary 2020)

Every January 1 at the small beach-side suburb of Clovelly, in Sydney's eastern suburbs, the local 'boys' perform their own little ritual: meeting at the promenade at 9 am in their 'Budgy Smugglers, they preen and pose before doing a perfectly synchronised dive into the ocean, setting the perfect tone for the New Year ahead. It's a heartwarming scene that typifies Aussie mateship, optimism, and irreverence.
