Andrew Privitera, Oculus Serenity (Architecture (ATEP 2017))

This series was taken on my recent trip to New York City on a humid & sweaty day in October 2016. I lugged my Manfrotto tripod, photographic backpack with Canon 6D & 24-105mm f4 lens frantically through the hot & crowded subway - pushed through the kaos of Lower Manhattan crowds - t-shirt wet from perspiration - feeling a hightened sense of anxiety - when all fo a sudden I found this place, the Oculus. The simplicity, light and beautiful angles of the World Trade Centre memorial stopped me in my tracks with it's temple-like spirituality and serenity. I was immediately calmed. I took it all in, and proceeded to capture this feeling of architectural grace, beauty and simplicity through my lens.
