Kara Baird, On The Waters Edge (Landscape (ATEP 2017))
As an Australian I understand how intrinsic the coastline can be to our way of life and identity. Growing up not far from the waters edge has affected the way I orientate myself in the world and I often find myself feeling claustrophobic the further inland I travel. I felt at home travelling around the fjords and waterways of Norway, yet seeing these dwellings often teetering on the edge made me uneasy at the very real threat climate change and rising sea levels will have on those, like me, who call the coastline their home.
