Karli Duckett, Out of Context (BLACK & WHITE 2021)

I selected these botanical cuttings for their form and line. Taking them out of their natural environment allowed me to explore the features unique to each individual species and to draw parallels between nature and art. I am also fascinated with Fibonacci and the manifestation of his mathematical observations in the natural world - the arrangements of leaves and flower architecture, the curling of a frond or the arrangement of a tree canopy.
