Steve Day, Passata Day (DOCO 2021)
Passata Day or Tomato Day is an Italian tradition. Late each summer when tomatoes are at their most abundant my wife’s family gathers to make enough passata to last the family the entire year. The lead up to Passata day was unusually stressful this year with the lack of tomato pickers due to COVID-19 restrictions limiting the tomato supply, luckily Tony the tomato man came through with enough tomatoes. This series captures my Italian in-laws leading the way making Passata in their traditional way.
