Belinda Kranz, Pathway To The Sunrise (SINGLE SHOT 2023)

I am rarely up pre dawn - except when I have a photographic opportunity in mind. The pre dawn air was crisp and fresh as I drove to the pier. I do love sunrises, as they give me a chance to witness one of nature's beauties, before the rest of the world wakes up. Each sunrise offers us a new beginning; a new day to appreciate; a new chance to start over; a time to reflect that we are alive to enjoy another day in our life. Most sunrise and sunset shots rely on the pretty, vibrant colours in the sky. This morning was a quiet one for colours, so I had to think of an interesting composition so I stepped back and surveyed the scene. I set up the shot so that one walks along the path, then steps onto the jetty and heads directly towards the sunrise. The moon is still up to remind us that the day has not quite begun. It is a quiet, calm time of day to reflect on appreciating the small things in life.
