Christine Goerner, Pinnacle at Lake Mungo (SINGLE SHOT 2021)
With randomly placed pinnacles of clay in a stark landscape carved from erosion over millions of years, this is Lake Mungo where the Aboriginal people have lived for more than 50,000 years. It’s hard to imagine but this scene was once underwater, brimming with life and occupied by their ancestors in Dreamtime. This photograph is about telling the story of this ancient Australian landscape.
