Kevin Palmer, Place of Playfulness (LANDSCAPE 2024)

These three images came about because events changed, and it is so satisfying when disappointment can be turned into a positive. I have frequently visited this location 'Narrigoon Falls' (meaning playfulness). Yet on reflection haunted by the unhappiness of my efforts, this time was to be different. It was not about rushing, or thinking of the gear and tools. It was for me intentionally respecting the place, walking, listening and waiting. I gave myself time to apply what I had learnt. To concentrate on capturing in camera the emotions of being with Narrigoon, as well as hopefully give examples for others to learn from and methods to apply. I think my personal learning was to appreciate that landscape photography at its best, is the photographer being in that place and bringing others into the moment.
