Margaret Ewing, Pond Life (OPEN 2021)
Life on and around the pond is fascinating, watching the bees, wasps, hornets, butterflies, dragonflies and damselflies are just a few of the insects to be seen drinking and mating, also the birds come down to bath and drink. Waterlilies pop their head out in Summer and the fish always ready when the dragonflies lay their eggs, but many do survive to become nymphs and emerge as beautiful dragonflies. My entry shows a Fishing Spider hitching a ride on a dead leaf whilst feeding on his catch, the unusual Blue and Yellow Dragonfly and a Damselfly taking time out on a Eucalyptus leaf which had fallen into the pond.
