Kate Flowers, Portraits of a Wildflower (PORTRAIT 2023)

I call my children my Wildflowers for two reasons. The first is because our surname is Flowers (I'm pretty happy about that), and the second is because they are generally pretty free-range kids, otherwise known as wild. These portraits are of my daughter who is one of my muses, and with enough bribery will allow me to take a few frames to work with. I love the way these portraits showcase her as the subject. These portraits are a nod to old historic portrait oil paintings, but bring in the wild element of the natural world. I present to you, my portraits of a Wildflower.
