Felicity Johnson, Rainbow Bee-eaters (ANIMAL 2025)
Flocks of Rainbow Bee-eaters fly down from Northern Australia and arrive at our property in Northern Victoria at the same time each year, same paddock and same roost tree. I wanted to capture their daily needs and their beautiful colours. They are skilled aerial hunters, capturing insects mid air and landing on a branch to consume them. They are also very social birds gathering in colourful flocks and when resting, usually sitting together smooching up as pairs.
