Holly Knight, Ravyn (Doco/Photojournalism (2019))
This project began as a documentation of a family of nine living off the grid in Tara, Queensland. However, it quickly transformed into a more personal story about my own experiences growing up off the grid, in the bush. Through Ravyn, the (then) youngest sibling, I relived my own childhood of cubby houses, mud pies, grazed knees, and imaginary wonderlands. This project bounces from Ravyn's perspective of this lifestyle to the perspective of those around her. From whirlwinds of excitement and fascination with natural wonders to chaotic dinner times and finally, the peace of a late evening once the children have gone to bed.
