Natalie Cunningham , Recommencing Her Childhood (PORTRAIT 2023)

After two years of rolling lockdowns in Melbourne and closed international borders, I was lucky enough to spend two weeks in America with my youngest daughter. We spent two days at Disneyland California where my daughter lived out the ultimate childhood dream of being at "The Happiest Place on Earth". I took for granted what a pivotal experience this was until I watched my child blissfully and joyfully take on a fairy floss which was larger than her head. This was when I realised I needed to capture what was literally my daughter recommencing her childhood.
