Louise Faulkner, Seasons II (Portrait (2019))

Seasons is a personal project, capturing portraits of my daughter during the in-between years of eight and nine. Such growth occurs during this time: personalities are strengthened, beliefs are shaped, attitude and sensitivities grow in equal measure and hard social lessons are learned. I watch her move through anxiety, shyness, worry and frustration. She is wonderfully empathetic, gloriously funny and more confident in her own decision-making. Each season brings a new version of my girl. These portraits are an attempt to capture her metamorphosis.
