Jessica Bellef, Shanty (DOCO 2024)
This hidden shanty town is tucked into a wild stretch of the NSW south coast, providing escape for sailors, surfers and other salty types since the 1930s. Solar panels and aerials that sit atop each wonky tin shack are the only links to modern life. During my two hour exploration, I saw one other person, in a distant cottage, staring out to a misty, agitated sea.
