Amanda Stuart, Singing Honey Eater - Mornington Peninsula (ANIMAL 2024)
I often see the Singing Honey Eater on my walk to the ocean beach, perched high up, in the open, as seen in the first photo. I can recognise its song. In the second photo, the Honey Eater appeared to be watching the sunrise, by my side. In the last photo, the Honey Eater has a seed from the Coastal Beard Heath shrub in its beak. Official name of the Beard Heath shrub is Leucopogon parviflorus - a very beautiful plant that grows very slowly. One of my greatest joys has been to be able to identify and photograph the birds in my area (the Mornington Peninsula).
