Kelly Gerdes, Smoke & Mirrors (Art)

“Smoke & Mirrors” is created by photographing hundreds of images of smoke and employing them to create imagery representing forms of life, motion and nature. While my influences and inspirations are mostly drawn subconsciously from what is happening around me in the present time, some of my work partly comes from my darker side and my curiosity of the unknown. There is a connection of fluidity through my images, I am drawn in by the physical property of the material that enables it to flow and lead me into taking something abstract and making it concrete.
