William Thomson, Steve Langton and the Never Ending Nyinkka (DOCO 2021)
December 2018, world musician and artist Steve Langton had began the work on his biggest work yet, two giant lizard sculptures. The lizards in question is a Ridge Tailed Monitor, or known as the Nyinkka by the local Warumungu people of Tennant Creek (Northern Territory), where the sculptures intend to be put on display. Steve, a man of many skills in his pursuit of perfection in realism, has set to bend and mash thick steel by hand to create these monsters of work, whether it be in a cloud of flies or the 50 degree summers, Steve proves that his passion for art outweighs any need for basic human comfort. As of 2021, Steve is continuing to work on the project. (Photos submitted captured 2019-2020)
