Mikail Brennan, Strength in Stillness (Art (2019))

This project ‘Strength in Stillness’ it is an exploration of the relationship between human vulnerability and emotion that can be found in complete stillness, this stillness is discovered through the body of a horse. People are often fascinated by horses, a person can be fearful of their size and power yet something drawn to their The intricate detail of the horses body evokes emotion from the strength and power in his chest to the softness and vulnerability of his nose and eye. This project was an inspiration after breaking free from a 10 year abusive relationship. Emotionally battered and bruised and completely vulnerable I found myself in complete stillness in my life and wondering where I could find the strength to rebuild. Many women around the world find themselves in a similar position in life, completely vulnerable but they know that somewhere they have the strength and a power to rebuild. This project is for them. Find the power in stillness, find the strength but don’t lose the softness and vulnerability. We don’t have to trade one for the other, we can have both power and vulnerability.
