Amy Crawley, Suburban Endurance (Portrait)

Suburban Endurance is a series of images that consist of documentary style portraits of different friends of mine. Each of the individuals live in suburban Victoria, Australia and have faced the consistent cycle of suburban life and exploring and establishing their identity within. Suburban Endurance is not only an exploration of my friends lives but in contrast an exploration of my own life also, evident within the images. A number of photographers and works inspired my series such as Richard Billingham's 'Ray's a laugh', Nick Waplington's 'Living Room', Boris Mikhailov's 'Case History' and Larry Clark's 'Tulsa".
