Bradley Redfern, Swiss beaten by the German powered Silver Fern (Doco/Photojournalism (2019))

Sunday 3rd February, 2019 saw the Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour again being hosted at the iconic Mount Panorama Circuit. With the weather hitting the mid thirties the action on the track started to heat up towards the end. The Swiss based R-Motorsport team had come into the race with no one talking about them as contenders. That all changed come the Top Ten Shootout when Jake Dennis driven car 62 took top spot. With a two spot grid already in place meaning car 62 was to start from third spot come race time but there was more pain to follow. R-Motorsport had been given a ten spot penalty with car 62 despite being the fastest was now starting in twelfth position. As the hours clicked by car 62 moved through the positions and with fifteen minutes of race time left and British driver, Jake Dennis at the wheel he was being pushed by Earl Bamber Motorsport Porsche driven by Australian Matt Campbell. Suddenly at Forests Elbow with his Porsche close to the rear of the Dennis driven Aston Martin it was Campbell who made the perfect move to snatch victory. It was at this time I was standing at the R-Motorsport garage with the team knowing they were close to victory but watching the Earl Bamber Motorsport Porsche closing in. The images show the R-Motorsport team throughout the closing of the race relaxed as the time counted down and capturing the exact moments when Dennis lost the lead. The closing image is the scene from inside the Earl Bamber Motorsport garage right next door.
