Cecilia Baker, Systema Limbicum (Art (2018))

The project explores and tells the story of memories of death, or memories of loved ones who have long passed. The story is narrated by the Limbic System: a set of brain structures that supports a variety of functions including emotion, behaviour, motivation and long-term memory. The main characters or the “loved ones” in this story are a grandmother, a grandfather and a dog. The making of this project has become a catharsis, I have finally let myself feel pain, anger, and grieve over my grandmother’s passing, the first and most significant loss in my life.
