Jordan Robins, Tales of The Turtle (ANIMAL 2021)
This series of endangered Green Sea Turtles was captured on Lady Elliot Island on the Southern Great Barrier Reef. In this series I captured these images at different times of the day in different lighting settings from sunrise till after dark. The first image was taken using a combination of a slow shutter speed, flash and movement of the camera to create an image where it looks like the two turtles are swimming in a vortex. The second image was taken just before night fall. There was still some glow from the setting sun shining through the surface of the ocean, which looked as though the turtle was flying through space. The third image was captured in the middle of the day. I was photographing one of the turtles eating some seaweed when the other turtle tried to steal its lunch resulting in it getting a cheeky bite / kiss on the cheek. On this particular day the ocean surface was nice and still, by positioning my camera on an angle up towards the surface I was able to also capture the stunning reflections of the turtles reflected onto the surface of the water.
