Annette Kirby, The Aussie Shearing Shed (DOCO 2021)

I August 2020 I was invited by my cousin to photograph their shearing as they had never had any photos taken of this annual event. This was the first time they had a female shearer and watching her skills and patience with the large merino ewes was a real pleasure. They all worked hard and fast and the youngest shed hand somehow had found a minute to catch up on his texting!. Lighting in shearing sheds is a challenge as is the space to work in without getting in the way. A wonderful 5 days of memories.
