I'd been watching this lady for some time, and was struck immediately by her extraordinary connection with these birds that most would find ugly or unexceptional. It just so happens Id been for a long 30km walk that day, and in the heat and the exhaustion this scene proved quite overwhelming. There was something whimsical, something sad about it to me then. I wont ever forget it.
