Angela Farnsworth, The End of the Line (DOCO 2025)

In the lifecycle of a Sockeye Salmon after having spent 1-3 years in the ocean and then another 1-4 years in freshwater, the Salmon make the long journey back to where they were born to spawn in June & July in Alaska. It is during this time fishermen that have a subsistence licence are able to harvest a number of these Salmon commonly using gillnets that are set along the migration path. The Salmon struggle against the gillnets further trapping them with no chance of escape. The Salmon are then extricated from the net still alive killed and processed.
