Feng Lu, The Melody of Lake Matheson (LANDSCAPE 2025)

These photographs were all taken in July 2024 at Lake Matheson in New Zealand. I visited the lake twice, and each time, it lay peacefully in the valley, surrounded by lush green forests, with the distant snow-capped mountains creating a breathtaking backdrop. The serene and natural beauty of the scene was like a melody that lingered in my heart, leaving me utterly enchanted.On the first evening, as the sun set, the sky was thick with clouds, and the light was dim. I used a long exposure to capture the scene. The following morning, at dawn, I witnessed the sky painted with the hues of sunrise, and as the sunlight gradually illuminated the misty lake, I used a wide-angle lens to capture the expansive view. Later, I switched to a medium focal length lens to take a panoramic shot, preserving the tranquil and majestic beauty of the moment.
