Kate Lionis, The Nature of Woman (Art (2019))
Each of these pieces are of a manifestation of a woman and their connection to the earth in all aspects of our lives. From "The Morrigan" and the crow to (the eventual evolution of the goddess) "The banshee" and ashes. The most literal of the series is "Mother Earth" and her ability to create all life around her. My interpretation of "The Poison Ivy" is made where she feels tied to the earth. The idea to the ever changing cycle or transitions are made with "Autumn leaves" (where the woman is in sync with the autumn cycle- ready to sleep for the winter) and the idea of changing body and coming in ones own in "the Butterfly Dress" was explored.
