Darren Patterson, The orphan, the pilgrim and the gentleman (PORTRAIT 2021)

This is a group of orphan boys that were visiting a holy Buddhist shrine in Myanmar. I was just sitting near them and they started to surround me looking at the camera. I think the central boy is captivated by his own reflection. The older man was at another temple in Myanmar keeping out of the heat of the day. The final photo is of a pilgrim at the Potala at the top of the staircase that takes you into the palace. He was as interested in us as we were in him.
