Alan Zhao, The Paradise (Landscape 2020)

The objective of this series is to arise people’s awareness of environmental protection by showcasing the purest natural landscapes of South Island, New Zealand. South Island is renowned for its snow mountains, glaciers and lakes. These three images are from Glenorchy, Milford Sound and Tasman Lake where they can all be called paradise. However, we cannot take this natural beauty for granted as global warming is shrinking New Zealand glaciers faster than thought. They have shrunk by nearly a third since the 1970s and could be gone by the end of the century unless we move quickly towards zero emissions
