Aaron Walker, The Stairwell (Art)

Creating imagined cinematic images with photography, by setting extraordinary scenes in an ordinary stairwell. The challenge for me was using narrative with my photography by creating moments in the stairwell. I focused on exploring the relationship the subjects had with each-other the occasion and the place. I deliberately chose an ordinary scene as a frame to view the series of stories that I could imagine inside the stairwell. My visual, design and performance experience along with my love of cinematography allowed me to really enjoy my involvement with the creative process and art direction of every scene in this series. My main inspirations were Gregory Crewdson, David Lynch, Quentin Tarantino, Frank Miller, David Chapelle, Lewis Caroll, and Bernard Foucon.
