Alejandra Olavarria, The Sum of Fragments (Portrait 2020)

Each portrait features a section of a person that fills up the frame and yet their gaze is never revealed. Instead, I wanted to make portraits that invite the viewer into the persons most expressive and private emotions and I wanted to achieve that without necessarily following the 'at least one eye in focus' rule.
