Andrew Hutchings, The Welkin Eye (ANIMAL 2023)
My aim has been to highlight the less understood or more seldom noticed native wildlife, vertebrates and invertebrates in our delicate environment. Using wide angle lenses I have sought to capture images of these animals and their surrounds. The Milky Way, moonlit sclerophyll forest and rainforest canopy was each of the subject’s natural welkin at the time of shooting, adding depth and ambience to the portraits. Each animal was shot as it was naturally found, untouched and undisturbed.
