Geoff Treagus, The Wonder of the Real (BLACK & WHITE 2024)
These are all body-scapes of the same model. I wanted to put forward a couple of points. Firstly, just how dynamic and diverse the type of ways of seeing can be, and should be. No one is completely one dimensional, and therefore can be seen and understood in a broad range of ways, which expand and develop over time. Another issue I was thinking about as I tried to decide what to submit, is how it seems that some photographers are a little over-zealous when it comes to editing, in terms of omitting so much of the so-called blemishes, much of the physical, and perhaps in some cases, the expressive individuality of the model disappears. So I've purposely gone against the idea of 'healing' freckles and creases, and the little veins the show through the skin, and have instead showcased them as something to be celebrated for what they are, being, aspects of a Person.
